Uganda: Impact and Sales Development Manager

The Opportunity

We are seeking an innovative and passionate professional to join our team as the Uganda Operations Manager based in Kampala.

The ideal candidate is a results-focused professional with vision and a track record of driving operational excellence. You will be responsible for developing and implementing plans to improve health impact and profitability. You will also test and implement new initiatives, oversee implementation of marketing plans and ongoing analysis to inform strategic decision making.

Key Responsibilities

· Support the director of operations on developing and implementing field initiatives that can help LG meet both key health impact and cost efficiency targets. These may include agent and staff incentives, recognition programs, product delivery innovations, mobile payments, credit offerings, sales promotions or new product launches.

· Use data analysis to drive continuous improvement in processes and systems.

· Supervise and coordinate field assessments and quality control in an ongoing Randomized Control Trial.

· Manage a small team.

Key Measures of Success

· Meeting key health impact metrics.

· Meeting cost efficiency targets and staying within budget.

· Clear wins on new initiatives that significantly improve either of the above. Minimum

Qualifications

· Minimum 8 years experience driving operations.

· Deep experience in field sales team/sales management or health delivery management in Africa or Asia.

· Private sector experience in one of the following fields: consumer package goods, health delivery, pharmaceuticals, retail or direct selling/franchising.

· 3-5 years of experience in managing culturally diverse teams in Africa or Asia. Track record of success in execution and delivery.

· Excellent organization skills and ability to see the big picture.

· Exceptional spreadsheet and financial analysis skills. Knowledge of accounting principles.

· University degree required. MBA preferred.

· Willingness to travel across Uganda 15-20% of the time. Please note that only candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will be considered.
