To support our ambitious growth plans, Living Goods seeks a highly motivated Associate to join its growing Business Development Team. The Associate will play a key role in identifying, cultivating, and engaging a wide range of stakeholders, including foundations, bilateral funders, corporations, and high-net worth individuals, to join us on our journey.
We are seeking a driven Associate to develop and grow our funding base and steward existing relationships. He/she will ensure effective management of grants, enhance our capacity to approach the right funders with strong proposals, and help craft Living Goods evolving strategy to tap new funding streams. The position is based in San Francisco, CA and will report to the Director of Business Development. The Associate will work closely across all business functions with visibility into Living Goods’ entire business.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director of BD to research, engage and win major new funders for LG. Build pipeline of well aligned funders; identify new prospects in line with Living Goods’ strategy, and support outreach.
- Develop well-crafted concept notes and funding proposals.
- Help steward and enhance relationships with core funders – to maintain and grow their support. Keep funders informed and engaged on both the progress and challenges of Living Goods. Write updates for funders and manage all grant reporting requirements. Work closely with finance and M&E team on impact reporting, financial reporting, and budget development.
- Build relationships with leading thinkers and funders in global development, emerging markets, global health, and social enterprise.
- Build and manage systems, including our Salesforce database, to facilitate strong relations with a broadening range of funders.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience fundraising, business development, sales, or communications.
- Proven track record of success in fundraising or sales.
- Experience in international development or social enterprise preferred.
Experience developing and winning major foreign aid grants a plus. - Exceptional research, writing and communication skills. An ability to develop clear and convincing materials under tight deadlines.
- Strong and demonstrated organizational skills.
- Experience with budgeting and financial reporting.
- Willingness to travel regionally and internationally.
- BA required.
